Dash's disappearance made everyone shocked, but grief tore Sierra apart. When he was reported dead Sierra gave up to the pain. She was so distressed, she wiped him out of her memory in a panic attack. She still dreams of him subconciously, and each time she does she's stressed at herself for being unable to remember.
