In many, many years, Denmaru will become enveloped in darkness, either dragging him into the Shadow Realm for eternity or corrupting him drastically to the point of trying to kill his own family- his choice. Only few people have escaped this fate.
It is called the Demon's Curse.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but the way I see it, if he doesn't pass on to the afterlife, he goes on a rampage?

Nah- it's like, this curse is effecting him slowly each day, which explains the black.marks on his arms in CS. At a point in time those marks will envelop him and drag him to the Shadow Realm, which isn't the afterlife but like a dark world with no.light. Imagine Giratina's place, for example. :P -Wario
