Radiant Raindragon

05 Dec, 2014, 2:28 pm

March 2nd, 11PM

---

I'm writing this by firelight outside Crowley's cave. I know it's been a while since my last entry, and I intend to explain everything, but first I want to write about my last mission.

Crowley and I visited some place with black mountains and grey skies. He wouldn't tell me exactly where we were, but I knew it wasn't anywhere on Earth.

We walked for at least an hour, barely speaking. Finally, just as I was getting tired, Crowley stopped outside a particular cave in the side of a mountain. He warned me to be quiet, and then we just stood there, waiting.

After a few minutes, a great red dragon stepped out of the cave mouth and roared at us. I nearly ran, I was so terrified. But Crowley held me back and explained who this dragon was.

His name was Leogon, and he'd gone to the same school as Crowley when they were younger. I discovered that Leogon had been a horrible bully and Crowley wanted revenge. That was why he'd brought me here.

'He's lying!' Leogon said to me after we finished talking. 'He's nothing more than an evil freak who wants to kill everybody! You can't trust him!'

For a moment I almost believed him. Crowley //had// proven himself to be a murderer, and I'd seen just how violent he could be when he got angry. But I didn't trust Leogon either.

'I don't believe you,' I replied and moved to stand beside my boss.

Leogon just stared at me in complete shock for several seconds. Then he let out an ear-splitting howl of anger and charged at us, snapping and lunging with his massive teeth. Crowley quickly jumped in front of me and the battle began.

It was all over so quickly... I don't even remember what happened. I managed to scratch Leogon's muzzle somehow, and he was so furious he tried to get his jaws around my throat to break my neck. I don't know what would have happened if Crowley hadn't come back. He leapt straight on top of the other dragon and started ripping and clawing at him in a frenzy of rage,

When it was over, Leogon lay dead on the ground. Crowley stood up and started limping towards me, covered in blood. He collapsed into unconsciousness before he'd gotten three steps. I had to create a portal to get us both home.

I was so busy caring for him that I couldn't update my diary for a while, but I'm here now. Crowley's inside the cave, sleeping, so he won't bother me as I write. He's still injured from his fight with Leogon, but at least he can move around by himself now.

Anyway, now I'd better explain that other thing... This is going to be my last entry. I don't have the time to keep a diary anymore; working with Crowley has become much more important to me. I don't consider him a merciless killer now. I don't care what everyone else thinks - I //saw// him save me from Leogon in that battle, and he's been quite friendly to me recently. I know there's something more to his character than blood and death.

One day, I might decide to keep a diary again. Until then, it's farewell.

And remember, //never// judge someone based on what others say about them. Judge them on how you see them for yourself. That's what I did. And wow, it's helped me a lot.
