I've been up to a lot of coastal paintings recently, this is just a temporary post of an unfinished one. I would like some advice on how to make it look more interesting.

I think it looks fantastic, it dosnt really need more color to make it interesting, the way the light blue in the water stands out is enough I think, awesome work as always!

Maybe you could add some white. I mean clouds and some little white stones . But it's up to you in your pictures.

@Otaner72: Yeah, I will add some clouds in the sky. I also need to add some bright reflections on the rocks

Looking nice, hmm tips, I'm not to good at tips, maybe a few gulls would add to it, you're great at drawing that sort of thing, and maybe a detailed one in the foreground :)

@Gaz: The only problem I have with gulls is that this drawing is part of a series of live studies. I'm adding small details to the pictures afterwards but seagulls would have to be drawn from photos which I don't really want to do

Oh i see, you just need to touch it up and detail the foreground a bit more then maybe, did you take a snap shot on location to help finish afterwards?, nice scene where we're you painting?

@Gaz: I'm at the coast in the North East of england. This drawing is of a beach at Seaton Carew, but I've been to other coastal towns too

Rather late to comment, but Gaz has a good idea: Maybe working up the lower right water by adding a few birdie waders and pushing the contrast a little more with the help of slightly lighter water ripples? Looking sweet.

nice work. maybe some blades of dune grass in the foreground on left would add more depth for you. good job.
