First off, I need to apologise for ending my last entry so... abruptly. I lost the chance to write, and now I can't even remember how I was planning to finish that sentence... haha...
OK, now I'll explain exactly what //happened.// I was resting inside that cave, just like I described in my last entry. Well, as I was sitting there writing, I suddenly picked up a faint noise coming from nearby - I mean deeper in the cave. I froze for a minute to listen, and the sound grew louder. I can't even begin to describe it, but I'll try my best.
It sounded almost like a bird... it was somewhere between a crow's caw and a weird, insect-like chirruping. I was so nervous that I just stood there and listened, not breathing.
After a little while, it seemed like the creature got bored of frightening me and decided to show itself. As I saw its form creeping out of the shadows, my fear turned to surprise and then fascination. It was a black-and-white dragon about the same height as myself, with ruffled feathers and hooked spikes. But what caught my gaze most was its eyes.... they were pale-yellow and seemed to shine in the dark, not quite glowing, but still clearly visible.
We just stared at one another for what felt like an eternity.
Finally, the crowdragon (I'm going to call him that for now) drew back his lips in a horrible grin and said to me, 'Well, well, well. Wandering into other peoples' lairs uninvited, are you?'
The sound of his voice made my fear return in a wave, blasting aside any fascination I felt for him. It was the voice of a hunter, a killer - sly and cunning and merciless. I was certain he was going to murder me on the spot, there and then.
But he didn't do a thing. I remember asking him a question, although for some reason my memory is fogged up and I can't remember what I said. But whatever it was, it made him hesitate. That terrible grin dropped off his face and his expression was almost thoughful as he looked at me.
'I'll give you a chance,' he said quietly, and I wasn't sure whether he was talking to me or to himself.
'What do you mean?' I responded - and //no//, I was not stuttering.
He smiled a little and replied, 'Become my assistant. Serve me and help me with whatever I need. Travel with me. In return, I'll let you keep on living a while longer.'
I didn't doubt he //would// kill me if I refused, which left me with no other choice. I nodded, unable to speak. The crowdragon seemed satisfied.
'My name is Crowley, by the way,' he said casually. Then he walked out, leaving me here in the cave.
Hmmmm. Very suspicious, isn't he? Yet, I'm also strangely interested in him. Is he really dangerous? What does he want my help for? I don't regret my decision to be his assistant, not if I can discover something more about him.
Now my claws ache from writing so long, and I feel Crowley will be back soon. I'll write again whenever I'm able.
