Its like Swapnote but it has A TON more features. Yes it is pricey (And tbh, should have cost at most $5 but thats just me) The App looks a bit odd and childish, but its cute and has so many more features than Swapnote ever had. You no longer have to Rely on SpotPass or StreetPass to get the message across, you can send messages to your friends even when they are offline.

Whats crazy to me is the fact that it has MORE than swapnote, (it has friggen' chatting capabilities for petes sake) and Nintendo's okay with that??
I think, this just proves they blew the swapnote thing waaay outta proportion. >:c
But then again, who doesn't? XD
