Indeed it is sad, but then, if they didn't live to their time, they wouldn't fulfill the purpose of their Maker. Lifespan also has to be considered in terms of quality of life, too. I have to be grateful that dogs and cats don't live generally more than twenty years because their bodies degrade as they age and if they lived longer, they would live in misery.
