Jonah's Fish by MasterOshawott

This is a sketch made while I was listining to the story of Jonah. I wanted to try to make the fish from the story. Looks sort of like a green Koi fish... though I still like it. X3 I do like Koi fishies.

Godspeed

@Ceta: 'tis fine. :) I've been inactive here for a wile myself. Recently got very sick and had to go to the hospitle. Slowly recovering.

Anyway, yes the story says it was a large fish that swallowed Jonah. Most people think that it was a "whale", however the Bible spesifically translates it as "fish" not "whale". A fish and a whale are two compleatlly differant creatures mind you. XP Yet for some odd reason people get the two mixed up. :p

Well, it's probably just because a whale, even though it's a mammal, is a "fish" big enough to be able to swallow a human whole. So people just envision that.

Kind of like the fruit in the garden of Eden. It's not necessarily an apple, but people have called it an apple out of tradition.

@Eph: Yes, undoubtably that is the reason. Though I've always been the type of person who values accureacy and details, (espasially with things pretaining to the Bible). Sence it was a "big fish", people think of a whale becase they are huge and resimble fish.... ._. ... It's not a subject worth argueing, though I find it interesting.

@Ceta: True.... Though it's not generally used in that context in regards to Jonah's fish from my understanding.
Yes, there are records to sugest that fish are capable of reaching those sizes, which would suport the idea that it could logically have been a fish. The ocean is a big place, and humans have yet to uncover all it's mysteries. So, yeah, it's a very fastinating thing to think about whst kind of creatures could be swimming out there that we don't know about. :3 ... I'm getting off subject aren't I? XP
