Sh.atteredpaw scuttled over to Maplekit, and sat beside her. "Hey, why are you down?" She tilts her head. Sh.atteredpaw wraps her tail around the kit, slightly smiling.

Chickadeestar gazes over the clan from the highrock, yawns, and starts thinking about who should be in the morning hunting patrol. Acaciafur could lead it, but she has three kits to take care of. Sh.atteredpaw could care for them while Acaciafur was gone, she's great with kits, but she was supposed to be out training with him today. But they could rearrange that to sunhigh... Chickadeestar sighed. He was glad he was leader instead of Deputy, so he only had to this when Cottonmoon was out doing her own thing.

Sh.atteredpaw chuckled. "Twistedpaw hurt his paw and he's a perfectly fine apprentice if you ask me. You have nothing to worry about." She turned to the river and spotted a skinny freshwater bass. It was on the brink of dying of hunger, but sh.atteredpaw waded out to it anyways.

Chickadeestar skidded down the path from the highrock and headed tword Acaciafur. "Excuse me, would you like to lead this morning's river hunting patrol?" He sat beside Acaciafur, who stared at him.

Sh.atteredpaw turned back to Maplepaw. "When you become an apprentice I'm sure you'll be able to hunt way better I can, But watch this." Sh.atteredpaw dived underwater and, as fast as an eel, hooked the tail of the fish in her claws and bit down into it's spine. She climbs out of the water, triumphantly holding the bass.

Sh.atteredpaw drops the fish infront of Maplekit. "Its really quite simple." She answered. "You dig your claws into the fish's tail so that it can't swim away, and you bite it's spinal cord or skull. The only thing that could happen is that you could run out of air or the fish could get stuck on your claws."

"You could d!e doing anything! But luckily Starclan makes sure you don't, they make sure you d!e when it's your time, at least all the good cats. You wanna help me thank starclan for the fish?" Sh.atteredpaw smiled down at the kit, and pushed the fish twords her.

Sh.atteredpaw smiled wider. "ok Maplekit, repeat after me." She took a giant breath. "Thank you, Starclan, for this fish giving up it's life so that we can keep our's."

Sh.atteredpaw giggled. "Nice." She picked up the fish, "Are you hungery or should this go in the fresh k!ll pile?"

Chickadeestar looked down at the kit. "Where are you going, little one?" He smiled warmly and placed a paw on her forehead.

Sh.atteredpaw padded over to the fresh k!ll pile and placed the fish on top of the only other two fish in the pile.

Bluekit woke up from her nest, surrounded by her two other sleeping siblings. She carefully paded out of the den, around her mother and twords the highrock. she sat down under it and stared at it, bored.

Bluekit chuckled, "Bored, I am, Yoda."

Chickadeestar tilted his head. "Outside the camp?" His fluffy tail wagged slowly.

"Why not" Chickadeestar stood up, and follows Maplekit.

Sh.atteredpaw heads up to her den and curls up in her nest, taking a fish with her.

"Stonekit and Ashkit are asleep, but I'll help" Bluekit bounced over into the medicine den.

Chickadeestar follows Maplekit into the crack, looking around. "How'd you find this, Maple?"

Bluekit flopped beside him. "Ok" Bluekit sniffed the leaves and made a face. "What are these?"

"ok" Bluekit picked up a borage leaf and placed it by the owl feather. "Is this right?" She tilts her head and looks up a River-Rush. "Is it fun being a medicine cat?"

Chickadeestar looks at the light and speeds up behind Maplekit. "That's interesting."

Chickadeestar smiled, "Wow, Maple, This is amazing!" He sat at the edge and looked at Maplekit. "How'd you like me to watch you hunt, and teach 'ya some things?"

Bluekit nodded. "I don't know what I wanna be. I wanna hunt and fight /and/ help the sick cats! It's really hard to decide!" She picks up three more borage leaves and place them by the owl feather.

"Okie Dokie!" Bluekit pushes borage leaves twords the feather in bunches.

Chickadeestar smiled. "Ok, show me what you can do so far." He curled his tail around his paws and watched Maplekit.

Bluekit stood over the borage pile triumphantly. "Ha! How's that for a kit!?"

Chickadeestar nodded. "Very nice. Try to bite them both at the same time."
