This happens to a Mane Dragon when they are infected with the Deplete Virus.
Holes tear along their body, spilling their magical essence.
However, the Deplete Virus works very similar to Vampirism.
The infected Mane gains inctedible strengths and speed, more than the avarage Mane.
They are not physically hurt by sunlight, but rather their eyes become sensitive to it.
They survive by feeding off other dragon, whether that be flesh, blood, or magical essence.
