This is stunning... a really impressive take. Oh, and if I'd known about the "ask and receive" earlier, then I would have pestered you for a nice Rococo paint with cool drapery contrasting with plump warm skin. You are 'ripe' for this (forgive the pun) as your recent baby study shows. Please throw me some Rococo style work. An original would be super, but a study would also be well received. I'll even return the "request" favor if you grant me this wish! *ping* :D
Munin, thanks. Yeah this was tough one. It's hard to look straight up a women's nostrils and still make them look good. One pixel off and her look changes. Not on was Leyendecker Rockwell's idol but he was a genius. If you ever get a chance to see an original, it's quite amazing.
Did you have specific work in mind?
@Arrjay: No specific piece or painter. Just a nice Rococo style to show off your lovely grasp of warm skin and cool drapery - something that has a distinct Boucher touch - rather than a focus on landscape or interior grandeur. Spanky bottoms is your forte at the moment, I believe. There's a painting he did called Odaliske, or something similar. Google and check out those cool blue & whites used for the drapery against the warm flesh. Oh, and I hear you regarding the pixel/nostil thing. That's why I can't be bothered to do full renders at this scale... although I it's great to see others perform. :) Oh, please, Rococo me baby... even if it's only a nice loose sketch.
Oh, and as a side note, I think you should carry on and do a few more different studes with the type of colour palette youseem to be drawn to fom different artists, then try to evoke the same from a B&W ref' image. I think it would be a good constructive move on your part. You don't have a website or blog?
There's a Boldini I've been thinking about. There is also another Zorn (my favorite) that I just found the other day. Incredible warm vs cool light. Quite unique color scheme.
Deberías de hacer menos lineas, eso consume el drw, y por eso lo del playback. Pero el resultado es grandioso. You would have to make less line, that consumes drw, and for that reason the one of playback. But the result is amazing.
Munin, I'll get to your request in a bit. I have a Freud coming in this week and then a Jack Nicklaus for my buddy. But hold tight my friend, you shall receive.
@Arrjay: Hey no problem. Whenever you feel like it. I'm currently giving my DS a little rest and concentrating on my sketching and PS/Painter speedpaints, but I'll be sure to catch up with all the uploads when I return. Happy scribbling. :)
@Arrjay: Oh, sweet. I'm looking forward to seeing the result. Like I said, I'm happy to trade a request for this so feel free to throw something back at me. I like to pay my way. :)
Munin,I added a reply on one of your others as well.
How about a Trade Center in shinning glory full of life. Maybe morning or sunset with lots of light in the windows, or, or, Haystack at sunset on the Oregon coastline. You choose
Arrjay: You have to understand, it's not the orange slice itself: it's the shiny fork. Users here seem to rate shiny things and reflections above most other considerations. Probably stems from a few generations of rampant consumerism... haha. If you want stars, paint shiny reflective things, use lots of bright colours, and add '80's slyle softbrush glows to things. Make it half cute and you're onto a sure winner! :D

Last week I posted one of J.C. Leyedecker's babies, this week it's one of his babes.
The original has a dude in it. I left him out.
21 Aug, 2009, 8:45 am
haa I see... that's some great artist indeed! I think I like this one better than the original because the long neck here is less prominent
21 Aug, 2009, 3:15 pm
MW if you ever get a chance to check out an original, don't pass it up! The dexterity is a thing to behold. None better! He was Rockwell's idol.

yeah to restore balance I clicked on the 'I like it' here ;)
04 Oct, 2010, 10:35 pm
Hey Arrjay, I can. Its a much more bolder simpler image than this one. I'm not saying anything negative about this one. This [IS] a great painting.
