From underneath dark, drenched hoods, Carina and Melody's careful eyes peered out at the armoured guards that patrolled the rain-soaked, cobblestone streets. Water sparked up with every marching step they took. Their crimson red and gold uniforms were easily recognised, even at a distance. Each guard carried an iron sword.
Herobrine's men were on constant patrol around every sector of the city. Everyday they watched for signs or acts of resistance, and looked for those that plotted to rebel against the king. Carina and Melody were two of these people.
Within a week of Notch's fall from power, his right hand man, and trusted friend Jeb had tried his best efforts to make things right again, but with no avail. After barely escaping Herobrine's clutches Jeb went to find others who were willing to fight back against him. This led to the formation of the resistance. However this hadn't gone unnoticed.

However this hadn't gone unnoticed. The amount of guards on duty had increased sevenfold. Some of the more careless and rebellious members of Jeb's resistance had been captured and killed. This loss only had two possible effects on the other members. They were either chased away in fear or their will to avenge the fallen drove them forward. Either way, Carina and Melody had remained part of it due to events that occurred when Herobrine took control.

By now the rain was surging down in thick sheets, each drop like a miniature bomb pelting the pavement. The two girls made their way down the narrow street, passing people taking shelter from the downpour who stood shivering in the doorways of old, abandoned buildings. They would stay here until the rain stopped, or were forced out by strict guards, whichever came first.
Melody's eyes darted over and back, her nerves kicking in. On making eye contact with a guard, she looked away quickly. Before drawing too much attention to themselves, Carina gently nudged her, silently urging her to move on. She knew all too well anyone who seemed suspicious were made suspected members of the rebel force, which would lead to them either being arrested, or killed on sight.
After checking that the coast was clear, Carina led Melody down a dark alleyway. It sat hidden between two rundown buildings. The path was littered with all forms of rubbish with rats scurrying and scrambling through bins and cardboard boxes. Some with more of a nerve hissed at the two people making their way through the mess.

The girls stopped at a door that would have been invisible to anyone paying little notice. It was painted the same grey colour as the brick walls surrounding it. The only thing that gave it away was the small patches of rust on the hinges. Carina preformed a well practiced series of small knocks and taps that no one on the outside would hear over the rainfall. Seconds later, a small, metal panel at eye level slid open. A pair of purple eyes peered through. The owner nodded and closed the panel. The door was opened by a brown haired boy who stood aside to let them in.
"Well you guys took your time" he said as he closed the door.
"Can you blame us? It's crawling with guards out there, Jordan" Carina retorted as she took off her soaking cloak.
She glanced around the room to see people who returned her gaze, some with small smiles and a wave, glad for the pair's safe arrival. Others acknowledged them simply with a grunt or a nod.

Carina, Melody and Jordan were the youngest members. Their presence in the resistance was always in question. But, not everyone had witnessed Carina's act.

"I suppose" Jordan replied as he helped Melody take off her own.

"And the rain didn't help" Melody added, brushing her damp, blond hair out of her eyes.
Jordan tucked the strands she'd missed behind her ear. "I'm glad you got here ok" he told her.
Just as Melody was about to reply, a door at the other end of the room opened and a man stepped inside.
"Ah, Alesters, good to see you've made it here safely" Jeb greeted.
Carina nodded. "It's good to see you, sir. Has there been any more word?" she asked.

"As a matter of fact, there has" he answered.
By now, he had everyone's full attention. All eyes had turned to him and silence fell over the room.

Jeb continued.
"It's Notch. He's alive"
