(if you're going to trash talk my beliefs, just remember: i can hurt you far more than you can hurt me.) let me tell you about where i live...where i live, if you're gay(if you cant tell, i'm not), or anything in that lines, you'll probably get the $hit beat out of you. I come from a heavy, HEAVY, christian/babtist family. my family was once mormon, but lets not talk about that. anyway, me being...you know, like i am, i'm sure you know how it is for me. i listen to Slipknot for crying out loud.-

i know how risky it is to talk about this, but i dont really care...if Jesus died for our sins, how is it that we still...sin? you're not supposed to sin, but its impossible to do so.. i sinned drawing this, i sinned sleeping to late, i sinned when i got a new game. I just REALLY feel confused.. i mean like, look at lust. its when you want something. but what about wanting to go to heaven?...get what i'm saying? i really dont know how to explain what i feel at all..

Stalker Blade

29 Oct, 2014, 4:14 am

let me tell you a little something...i'm a christian, but i dont go to church. why? let me tell you why: the people that are there. they're horrible. and i should know, because i got bullied by these 'christians'.. going around telling people how horrible they are for no reason isnt how you're supposed to be a christian. think about it, i dont even go where i'm supposed to because of that...it sickens me.

Well part of my beliefs is that people can worship how, where, or what they may.
Also glad to here you life is better now. ^w^
@Tabz

Yes, everyone Sins, and please let me answer your question on why there is still sin even though Christ already died for them. (Atleast according to my beliefs)
People still have there free will to do what they want, so there will some sin. Christ's sacrifice allows us to return to live with him if we so choose to fallow the path set by him and give up sin.
Well just felt like answering your question, take it or leave it. Up to you.

Well I think you are forgeting about the people who changed the Bible to modern language and phrasing.
Unless I missed something and they went to jail for some reason.

Stalker Blade

29 Oct, 2014, 4:49 am

@lumos: i understand that, but what about after you (idk if you do this or not) get saved? you'll still continue to sin, no matter how hard you try. its such a normal thing that you can't get away from it...you know what i'm saying?

X-CityWolf-X

29 Oct, 2014, 4:49 am

I'm kinda in a similar situation. I'm a Protestant Christian, but I listen to club music with not exactly family friendly lyrics, always wear all black clothing and I never go anywhere without a hoodie unless it's like crazy hot out (soon to be getting rave pants, which will just add to the "hoodlum" look Lol) I have gay and lesbi friends and I love them to pieces, I don't go to church, etc, etc, the list goes on. But you know? The stereotypical "super "Religious" guy" as you coined it, isn't any better a Christian than you or I are. "Love thy enemy as you would thy neighbor." Well, if the Bible states that gays and lesbi and drunks and whatever are enemies, then we should love them as we do our family and fellow Christians, ya know? Like, I don't go to church for exactly the same reason. The other people there are butts, and to me, that means they shouldn't call themselves "Christian." ((Cont. below. outta space. Lawl))

Stalker Blade

29 Oct, 2014, 4:52 am

@lumos: no, someone printed a few and made it where it said "commit adultry" in it and was put in jail for it... xD

To me being a Christian means to not only believe in God and his Son Christ the Lord, and His Book of Truth The Bible, but to also be accepting, forgiving, and kind and loving to those who hate us, dissagree with us, and to those who stand against us. It is impossible not to sin, true, but I don't think that's the trick. I think the trick is to really learn how to, "forgive and forget," as the saying goes. Every time I introduce myself as a Christian, I get people glaring at me and being like, "Watch out, he'll burn us at the stake." and even sometimes get outright hate comments and told to leave. That's because people think I'm the stereotypical religious person, which is not the case. Those stereotypes are just that. Stereotypes. They are not they way proper Christians should be, yet most are so they make the rest of us look bad. *shrugs* But it's okay. Gotta walk past the hate and love in return right? I really think that's the best way you can be a Christian.

Stalker Blade

29 Oct, 2014, 4:58 am

@wolf: i think (i think) when the bible was talking about drunks and gays, it meant what they were doing is bad...i think everyone's just not seeing it like that, though...idk

X-CityWolf-X

29 Oct, 2014, 4:59 am

But anyways, I've rambled on enough, and probably didn't make much sense, so I apologize and I'll just take my leave now. I wish you the best of luck, take care, and have yourself a wonderfull evening.

Lumos Eclipex

29 Oct, 2014, 5:02 am

@StalkerB
Yeah I see. In my beliefs it is a life time of effort on our behalf and as long as we do as much as we can do we are promised we are will be saved. When you sin you repent and continue to try to improve and become a better person.
And oh I never heard of that person who tried that! (The Bible bit)

@Tabz
I try to be the best friend I can be. Even if I am not all that active here on Colors I still wonder how you are doing, and when I see you upset I just want to find a way to help you.

SpiritDeer

29 Oct, 2014, 5:08 am

@stalkerblade: I see what you mean, we all sin every day, like you said, it's human nature but even after we've been "saved" or "cleansed" from sin we will still sin, so it's are job to countinually repent/turn away/make wrongs rignt and work past human nature and by doing so, become closer to and more like Christ. God loves everyone, no matter what. Sin and all. ^w^

As my friend once said:
"Gawd, this is why i don't like religion in English text and multiple choice analysis! I can't tell what's right or wrong!"

Just don't let them get to you. You accept their beliefs, they have no right to disrespect yours. Ask them if they ever actually sat through a heavy metal song, not all of them have anything to with "whatshisface". They'll stay silent, say something stupid, and think they've won as well as realize WTF was the point in sayting that.
Jeez, is wearing a black tuxedo that bad?
.-.

Lofty Lioness

29 Oct, 2014, 5:45 am

Hmm well, the reason why we continue to sin even after we have been saved is that were imperfect beings. Being saved doesnt grant perfection here on earth, but it does mean we are forgiven and our debt is paid in full, as long as we let God into our hearts and follow Jesus. (thats why Jesus died, he was completely perfect, and sacrificed himself to pay for our sins so that we could have a perfect, eternal life in heaven as long as we believed in him.) That doesnt mean we can have a blast and commit all the sins we want. To follow Jesus is to focus on him, follow his teachings, and to also love one another despite our sinful nature. So sin is pushed more out of the way as long as you follow him. :y

Now as a comment for why some religious people are like that (especially older babtist or catholic people) is because theyre blinded by the influence of past strict belief traditions in the church and old testament. They can be a pain, but we should turn the other cheek. aka ignore 'em. .3.

(oh and, when the Bible talks about lust, it means the s.exual kind of lust. Deeply wanting something isnt typically a sin, depending on what you want and why you want it. A desire to go to heaven isnt a sin at all. :O)

Lofty Lioness

29 Oct, 2014, 6:04 am

It seems like I have the perfect church compared to most people here, I see people wearing anime shirts in service and theyre even having a halloween party. xD

Xerveltal Yneas

29 Oct, 2014, 6:10 am

First of all:
@Zippet: There is a trinity. Jesus is only one. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, they are all one, now if you are saying Jesus is not perfect, you are telling us that God and the Holy Spirit aren't perfect!

Second:
@Lofty Lioness:
You just said in your second paragraph what i was gonna say! Guess i am a little late. B[

Lastly:
@Stalker Blade:
I thought the Super "Religious" Guy said Worshipet! XD

Xerveltal Yneas

Not to Ki1l the joy but Halloween actually comes from the Bad Side. It is if you are celebrating it, you are like having fun with the Bad Side. So we don't celebrate it. But most people celebrate it for FUN! So let's have a little FUN!

Lofty Lioness

29 Oct, 2014, 6:34 am

@Xerveltal: Yeah, they and I know that. xD They arent really celebrating the holiday's origins, theyre just throwing a fun party where you can dress up, hang out, and avoid people who get drunk and dress disgustingly during the holiday. :D

People who want to help others can use religion as an excuse to do so and people who want to hurt others can use religion as an excuse to do so, but in the end the religion is not responsible for helping or hurting. The people are. We're all individuals with different ways of seeing the world. It's why there are so many different denominations and even more ways of interpretting them. So, being a separate individual, you won't have the same way of seeing things as different separate individuals, even your family. The one thing that can bind all us separate individuals together isn't religion, but love. It's why those who follow the teachings of Christ on love don't call themselves "religious". If you can see the insecurities, fears and confusion that lead to people judging you...basically, if you can see them as imperfect humans like us all, then you can forgive them. I know from experience how words can hurt, but no one is perfect, so no one is less perfect than anyone else.

Theres this voice actor,Vic Mignogna,who plays roles mainly in anime and is a kind,spiritual Christian.Naturally,because its anime,other Christians were never sure if they wanted to go to conventions with him and yadda yadda.During one of his Q&A panels,he mentioned that some Christians,Baptists,etc. have said things like'Anime is of the devil'and,in your case,'Heavy metal is of the devil'.He said that those are 'of the devil' just as much as movies are 'of the devil' and books are 'of the devil' and so on and so forth.I cuss...more than I should.Mainly at school.I guess it gives me a sense of freedom to just let out those words a lil bit.I dont really think of them as 'bad words',cuz in reality,theyre just words.And I constantly wear jackets and dull/dark colors all the time.I dont like standin out so much.I guess Im sayin that I understand where youre coming from.I feel like "religious" people want other members of the religion to look good so they look good.I dont know... q'-'p
