Just remember these three simple steps
Step one- Practice Talking/Breathing: Stand in front of the mirror the morning before a social event, practice talking/having conversations with your reflection (it might seem weird but it really helps) also practice posture, facial expressions, gestures, manners, etc. and practice breathing thecniques that you can use if you need to calm down.

Step two- Bring a Distraction: Bring something to distract yourself if you get overwhelmed. Ex: 3DS, sketchbook, notebook, smartphone, ect. That way, when things get too intense, you can sit aside and distract yourself from the situation.
Step three- Try To Be Open: Try to be open to meeting new people/going new places/trying new things,! I know it's hard but you might have fun!
