I've never doubted Ridley as a possibiliy (maybe even for a future release). If anyone can figure out how to make Ridley work in Smash, it would be the guy who made Pokemon Trainer, Wii Fit Trainer, Duck Hunt, and all those other guys playable. I just think the right solution for Ridley hasn't been found yet, as of this game.

When I first saw Mewtwo on the movie,I instantly saw that he screamed BA.
Mewtwo has always been my top favorite,with Lucario as second place.
I was sad to hear he didn't make it in Brawl,even though I never owned the game,but still!Lucario is also awesome but need his speed amped up,and due to Mewtwo's Psychic powers,not quite sure how the all time favorite fighting type could ever get near him,especially how his powers was showing off on the first movie how noone could get near him!But now since the two all viral rivals can now top it off in an official Smash due to all the awesome requests to Sakurai and his team!Welcome to Smash four Mewtwo,hope you release your full powerful wrath on the whole roster of fighters who left you in the dirt.

That big Space Pirate will never be playable in the series at this point. If Sakurai can make R.O.B., the Villager, the Wii Fit Trainer, or even freaking Duck Hunt playable, but if he can't make Giantley playable 3 times (including Melee, but excluding 64, and if you include both versions of Smash 4 as seperate, then it's 4 times), I guess the obvious fact is the only thing that keeps him away from being playable, a status that doesn't fit (no pun intended) his character well.

Uh, I didn´t really want to start a discussion about this even though I know that some fans feel pretty strongly about Ridley in one way or another...
It´s just that I think Ridley is in the realm of possibility and that he would be kinda cool too.

"Possible"? If you think that Skysc.r.a.peridley is possible, then why did Sakurai during an IGN interview about Purpidley not being playable, confirmed that it's actually, in his opinion, uncharacteristic for him to not just to be shrunk, but to nerf his abilities, like his strength and being an airborn fighter? He also said that Nedley being a boss is the only thing that's suitable for him in his opinion as well.
Can't argue against the creator's opinion, but it's not like I'm here to start a flame war, I just hate the fanboys' guts and ignorance.
