I really like the coloration of your raptorial avian creature thing's scales and his menacing physique. The beam and beam hand seem unnatural though. My eyes don't like looking at it. Cool though.
No problem. A little honest feedback and criticism is a breath of fresh air after the typical one word exclamations of praise and the like. If you're not completely finished with this, I could offer more suggestions. Ideas are what I'm good at, but also my downfall. I want to take down all my paintings for that very reason - I know I can do them better. With so many ideas flooding through my mind, it's hard to decide what to do as well.
Supposing you continue working on this and after you fix that other arm, you could add some more spittle detail on the beak - a string and more of a tear drop shape to that globule for a more natural effect. While you're at it, you can just have his entire mouth dripping with goo. Maybe he could be weilding double scimitars whilst engaged in deadly combat with a feathery dog-headed flying dragon serpent to give off a more Aztec vibe.
I could help you plan your next painting if you want.
Sure thing - I look foreward to our collaboration. I get pretty busy with scholastic things and such myself. Thanks for the compliments on my new painting by the way. Toot toot! All aboard the thought train!
