DR: Mario and Luigi are infected with a disease that only gives them a few days to live.
IS: Mario Bros find out that their organic bodies have been replaced by robotic ones.
LIE: Mario Bros (Luigi mostly) are outcasts, because the monster inside them has grown restless.

Also if any of you notice the initials for the games, the 1st was an accident, but the others are on purpose.
