Keep it up! I like the expression. :0 Why not try -when you're practicing lighting- to block in the darkest darks and the lightest lights first? Then you add more gradation between then as you work. Like mapping out where the contrast areas are occuring... I'm always told that in painting and drawing you work from less to more detailed in the painting process. Perhaps give that a try? You already have a good grasp at values, just try working a little differently. :)

-Yep I have I think i always mix colors too evenly
