Say buh-bai to your brain cells! 8D I'm gonna lose followers for this one, lol.
Guys, the most important thing is that IT IS NOT A CRIME TO REFERENCE! D8 It is the biggest thing that will help you learn! A lot of really dumb anatomy mistakes can be fixed just by looking at a photo of the animal and realizing OH THAT JOINT DOESN'T GO THERE. It's not "TRACING" if you're STUDYING and LEARNING from PHOTOS, NOT OTHER ARTISTS.
And yep, my deer I drew for this is fail, but people asked, so I tried.
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

I completely agree, it is the best thing you can to to improve your art, is to look at refs! These look just fine btw, ;D

Great tutorial! Thanks for posting, I'm sure this will help me out sometime! :D
I really dislike it when people make their wolves and deer look alike, it's stressing XD XD

Drawing from references for practise is more or less the best way to learn how to draw anything really.
You got the deer down pretty well for not using a ref, but i need to point out that you gave the deer horse-hooves when they actually have that 'split'-kind that cows, sheeps and goats have. As far as I know, only horses (and close related species such as zebras) have the kind of hooves you drew.
For those who wanna practise more on deers, i strongly recommend studying the animation tests from Disney's "Bambi". the anatomy on the deers in that movie is really accurate and realistic - it's just the faces that are stylized.
I think it's good that you took time to point out a common mistake among novice artists. I also wanna draw some deers now haha :D
