How do I draw ponies, you ask? Well, it's sorta hard to explain, but I'll try my best. (BTW, you can watch the playback for an idea of how I do it, if you don't want to read my wall of text.)
First, I draw a circle for the head. This gives me a good base for it, because no matter what angle the head will be pointing, you can just add things on to it, without really modifying the circle much.
Then I draw the body, which I start from the neck down. Usually I start drawing the forwards facing part first of the neck. I then draw the back and the belly, then add legs. The legs have a slight curve to them, you don't want them to look like sticks.
After that, I start to do the eyes. There are many different eye types for ponies, but the most standard type you'll see on one is on Plushypie, the blonde pony in the picture. Then you can start on the mane, tail, and any other special things that make your pony... Well, your pony!
