in my head canon, the castes have different haem groups, which defines the colour (red is haemoglobin and blue is haemocynanin... youd have to make some up for the others haaa). this effects the properties of the blood, so the higher the blood, the harder to destroy/manipulate blood cells... which is why desmats gonna have a fun time mastering it haAAA
