Yes, I believe I understand now. I came onto here thinking that I had a fanbase that wanted me to entertain them, but it turned out that I didn't have a base at all. Just because everybody loved Mike's Pokemon and Misoku and faved us for that reason, doesn't mean that they liked my stuff.
After I realized that, I got discouraged and considered quitting. But now I realize that if I'm ever gonna get as much fans(more likely maybe a quarter)I'm gonna have to start from scratch.

Like I said, back on Hatena our shared account had lots of fans, but that was only because of Mike's flipnotes. I guess I thought that they were my fans too, but hey, they're Mike's fans not mine. That's why he has so many followers and I have only a little.
Well, now is as good a time as ever to rack up my own fans, and maybe someday, I'll have a bunch of fans just like Mike. (At least I have one or to start, so I'mma get crackin' and be rackin' up that number!)

Well, I love Mike's comics more than his drawings in general. I'm a comedian at heart so comedy is what hooks me. If you can make lots of comics, you'll get up there, Look at me! I started with comics and now 5 months later I have 400 plus followers, and my digital art skill weren't so great back then either.
Random question: are you Mike's older or younger brother?

Darn, Jon. Have you considered on meeting new artists, mainly one who've just started on Colors recently? Maybe you can increase your fanbase from there? /: /

^>.< I apologize for that grammar error...
Re: A good way I have gotten followers was from meeting new artists around the gallery. They probably don't have to be ones who've just started though.
From there, I usually ask artists who I'm following to try this suggestion if they are having trouble with follows. Sometimes, it may take meeting new people to get somewhere, man. ; /
