Hey, I'm really sorry I'm this late replying. I've been seriously busy lately but I'll try to explain as much as I can to help : ) ok, outlining...everytime I draw sonic I need a starting point, somewhere to outline different aspects from, like the head, eyes, chest, etc. my starting point Is the nose. from there you draw the mouth. after those two are done you have three options. your first option Is that you can choose to go down & draw the chest, arms, hands, legs, shoes. option two Is you can go up & draw the forehead, ears, top quil & back quils. option three Is to start the eyes, which Is my personal first choice. now, there's several ways to outline the eyes & mouth to control the attitude & expression, whether It be happy, laughing, angry, sarcastic, sad, etc. I highly suggest that you watch this YouTube video made by Hydro. It's called [SFM] faker!. when you watch It, pay close attention to both Sonic & Shadow's facial expressions. that should give you some Ideas. -
Also, one more thing that may help Is to keep In mind to use the back 3D layer first, do a rough sketch of Sonic, then move to the next layer & trace a clean line over the sketch. when your finished, erase the rough sketch & you'll have a pretty clear Image In front of you. I hope this can be of some help to you. I'll see you afterwhile.
