Ptsp don't president of the obvious me please I KNOW which ones which I've been playing nintendo handhelds since gameboy nintendo, you know the one that was shaped like a brick that had been sawed horizontally, so dont lecture me on spelling the ds can be used for any of the ds's as they all have one specific feature in common, THEY ALL HAVE DOUBLE SCREENS!
That feature is not a seperate series of handhelds though is it? Plus they require a screen such as a TV to play unlike the nintendo DS series which have two screens built in, in a way I guess u can say the ds's were an upgrade of a gameboy advanced SP just rectangular and had upgraded software
@PTSP Sure the 3DS may stand for 3 Dimensional Screen but that doesn't mean its the successor, all a 3DS is, is an upgraded version of the DSi, added 3d effect and newer versions of the games that were available for download on its previous handheld, DS, DSlite, DSi,DSiXL, 3DS, 3DS XL and the 2DS, ALL have onename in common "DS" therefore they are all part of its handheld series.
The 3DS is not an upgraded version of the DSi. That's like saying Wii is an upgraded version of the GameCube or that SNES is an upgraded version of the NES. The 3DS is a series of new handhelds with a new library of games, new hardware and new features AKA the successor to the DS. They just have similar names and look similar, it doesn't mean they're a part of the same series. The content is completely different except for the fact that 3DS can play most DS games.

I'm assuming you mean 3DS. DS is a completely different handheld.
Anyway, maybe you should try sending it to repairs or something.

By that logic, the Wii U would be a Dreamcast since they both have a screen on their controller.

Well, the 3DS isn't a part of the DS series, it's their successor. It has new hardware and a different library of games.

Oh no, dude! Maybe you should consider getting a new one -- if possible? /: /
