An Alkian year is 500 twenty-four hour days. So if they are fourteen, on Earth they'd be about nineteen. BUT, maturity would be less, as Alkians can live from three-hundred fifty to five-hundred years. If you live five-hundred years, you have dang NEAR PERFECT health. It's almost impossible.
(Also, you can't have kids until one-hundred and fifteen.)

Alkians have a Core, not a heart, which is FAR more durable than flesh and tissues. Since the Core keeps their entire bodies going, it makes sense it'd keep the whole body going for so long.
