I love the complexity and experimentation of these two albums, they go from the most chaotic (Aquarius Sabotage, The National Anthem) to the most peaceful (The Impulse, Kid A) in a matter of seconds. Come to think of it they do have a lot of similarities, they both have an ambient track (Virgo Self-Esteem Broadcast, Treefingers) they both give off an other-wordly sort of feel.
The most noticable difference for me is that TFL had a bit more fun with Embryonic and just wanted to do something new (I Can Be A Frog) while Kid A was more of a result of stress from RH's popularity at the time and a way to break free from what most people would keep expecting them to make. (How To Disappear Completely) They're both in my top 10 list for sure :oD
