yeah.... sometimes i do trace, but that's to get hand movements down, and i don't post the picture, and even delete it sometimes....

i agree, if the picture looks EXACTLY like the original one, that's not cool, but if it's like.... different hair and stuff like that, i'm cool...

I'd say it's okay only if you use a picture as like, a base, for like, poses. But tracing exactly what the pic is, is just wrong.

Tracing to get the contours or shapes of something--very understandable

Tracing and adding in your own character or whatever? Understandable. As long as the base owner gives permission or it's something free to use (recolors are a big pet peeve if you just hijack lineart or something--not like an off colored Pokemon OC or something.)

Tracing an image just to trace it? No free pass. Do not pass go, do not collect $200.
