I think the fact that the structures are simple and just hazy silhouettes add a lot of depth to the painting. I think your brain was trying to tell you something here. :) Loving the way you use the negative space of the middle tower to break up the canvas boarder. The only thing is, I can't stop thinking that's a city full of Quake III fans! ;)
...and given that thought, no wonder the figure in the foreground looks sullen and so full of fatigue. That's how I used to slump in the old days after a heavy frag binge. O_o

Very pretty! Composition and color all together make it quite unique!
