I'm still wondering if it's possible to get jailtime from minor offences like these, myself. I get an automatic minor copyright on my work by putting it through deviantART.

I think you could get fined... and all tracers are too young to go to jail if it was possable

i was just wondering cause i DO NOT want any one stealing my precious oc whitecloud shes the true me she shows who i really am i dont want any one to steal her... plus if i get a cat like her ill name her whitecloud :D and i really dont want any one traceing my pics... some of them i work HOURS on then someone comes along and thinks ''ill trace this to get a bunch of likes :D'' then when i see it i get mad and start to draw depressing stuff cause i become depressed and then i post it and then everyone will think i am depressed because i just am but im not its because someone traced my art...

ummm... im not quite sure about this but i think it depends on whether the artist has copyright or not. but if the artist does i think they can go to jail for about 2 or three years. i think it also depends on what kind of theft such as tracing/physically taking a drawing or painting on paper/claiming it as their own when it isnt. again, im not quite sure if that answer is correct so i recommend googling it to find the answer ^^'
