#HonestyHour #6 Try it Out First by #HonestyHour

I'm not going to make a heavy topic #HonestyHour today. That doesn't mean that there isn't need for it to be taken seriously though, because it's something that really ticks me off and if the tables were turned (which they actually are) you would feel the same. There are many ways to express yourself in the world: music, art, writing, acting....but for each of those there is always backlash....and there's a trend. #6 #Emo #Metal #Depression #Prep #Pop #Alternative #Screamo #Hipster #Music #Art

The most popular artists of those categories are always the ones who are the most criticized. This for all of you out there, whether you are scene, emo, preppy, or however you choose to label yourself, i'm talking to you. Okay preps i know you love the pop culture of the world but it honestly wouldn't hurt to try to listen to some undercover musuc, watch an indie film, try out a new genre of music, or try a different art style. It's fun to explore, you might find something you like!
And now...the Emo or scene or hipster or {insert label here} i want you to try out something mainstream. Watch Frozen even though you swore you would never. Listen to One Direction's latest Album...it's actually more Alternative than it is pop, Watch Pretty Little Liars or Degrassi or Once Upon A Time. Anything that's trending on Twitter, Find out what it is. Don't argue about the Morals of rap music on tumblr and enjoy it...sometimes it's deep. Honestly just because teenagers like something doesn't mean

it's crap. Don't automatically hate something before you try it just because everyone is praising it. Have fun...don't be so serious and call Nicki Minaj p.orn or Megan Fox a s.lut. TMNT wasn't bad at all. She actaully wasn't s.lutty! So to evetyone...try it out before you decide you hate it. Sometimes your opinion is decided by your friends or a tumblr post and i really want to change that in the world. Make your own honest opinions. Try it Out First. If the shoe fits...wear it. This has been #HonestyHour

"Don't judge a book by its cover." Sometimes we rush to judge things without trying them first. This was the whole lesson of Dr. Seuss' book Green Eggs and Ham. You can't know if you like or dislike something without actually trying it. I guess that goes with having an open mind and it seems to be common to have a closed mind, especially about some things. I hope that your paintings can at least make people question things rather than make assumptions.

It seams as though you are into a lot of mainstream stuff. Nothing wrong with that, i'm just thinking you do. I like what I like, which more often than not isn't mainstream. In music I don't like Katy Perry, I don't like Nikki Minaj, I don't like One Direction, and I don't like Flo Rida. I like bands like Linkin Park and Shinedown, who aren't really mainstream, but I don't really care. I'm not afraid of being called anything, labels don't define what I like. I hate labels entirly. I hate people stereotyping you, I hate people getting offended by them. I wish a label was what it should be..... a word.

"If the shoe fits wear it" that's a useful quote that unfortunately isnt payed attention to that much

thx for the comment and i dont think ur a harsh person, i like to try to understand why ppl do the things they do (inspired by RR) and i see that u just want to help, u only do it in a different way than others would, which causes them to fight against it because it's human nature to attack what we dont understand ^w^

@everyone i have a quote that will make the world a better place, take this advice
"if ppl were to spend as much time listening to reason and understanding as they do fighting back and getting angry over it, the world will be more civilized, less crimes, less vio.lence, more peace"
i made that up but i feel like it's already a famous quote somewhere :/

PS: i inspired u? im so happy! >w<
