In the darktroid race, the gravid females, called queens, have a gestation period of four months before birth and start being reproductively active at the age of 3 years.

The babies, named kits, are usually born in litters of two to 8 babies. Two rare cases show queens having over twelve kits at a time. Labor takes about seventeen hours, from the beginning of the contractions to the last newborn.

Then, the new mothers will take care, with the dad's help, of the kits untill they are a year old.
