Gold is good decoration. Make obsticles or epic shiny buildings with it.you can use it as floors. You need gold to make a clock. So it is good I guess

The joke is that the guy is excited about gold and is ignoring that fact that he should be excited that there is diamonds everywhere.

Gold can be a good thing. There aren't many crafting recipes for it, but it's still useful.
