Well I'm eventuallly going to do Kihga's story too, but this comes first :) I should have at least 1or 2 parts up a week, until school starts of course. I'll have less time. Anyway, it'll be up in the browser comments. Please excuse the horrible paragraph and dialogue spacing. I'm copy pasting

"Why don't you step outside, my son. Your mother is under a lot of stress." Kihga was confused. Stressed? His sister's egg has just hatched and the Healers said she was healthy...tiny, but healthy. Why would his mother be stressed? His father sighed, growing impatient with his curious son. "Kihga, please. Leave for a moment." Kihga flinched at the stern tone in his father's voice. He dipped his head respectfully, and flew out of the cave. He perched on a large branch of a rainbow eucalyptus tree, which had been imported from a planet called Midgard. The young dragon decided to use this time to try and stop the flame on the end of his tail. He moved the flame to be in front of his face, and concentrated very hard, doing everything his fire instructor had told him to do. But nothing worked. It wouldn't go out. He sighed. His father always reminded him, jokingly of course, that he'd be quick prey for the eagle vultures. He always reminded the grand dragon that suragon's had no predators. The huge, grey and navy blue dragon always snorted, and left the joke behind. But it hurt Kihga every time. The flame on his tail sputtered a little bit, but Kihga's hope sank as it ignited again, almost more brightly then it had been before. Kihga had always wanted a sibling. His mother didn't want him playing with the other dragonets, but when she did occasionally let him he always ended up playing alone. He couldn't figure out why. He'd asked his mother one day. "You're a royal, Kihga. They need to be afraid of you," his red scaled mother had told him. He didn't want them to be afraid of him. He just wanted to have fun. "Kihga! Come see your sister!" His father yelled down, breaking him out of his trance.

"Coming, father!" He yelled back, flapping his small but strong wings and rising off of the branch. He landed by the mouth of the cave, his father greeting him. Kihga spotted his mother laying on her side with her back against the wall of the cave. But he didn't see the hatchling with her. The red suragon glared at him, then gestured rudely with a snort to the other side of the cave. There was the smallest suragon Kihga had ever seen. She was only about a foot tall, a whole three feet shorter than Kihga. She was bright blue, with huge, half green wings that didn't fit her size at all. She had a small green fin on her tail. The little hatchling blinked her green eyes. She looked like she'd been crying. Kihga held in a gasp as he saw her neck was slowly turning purple. "Isn't she beautiful?" His father asked him, leaning his head down to his son. He could hear his dad purring a little. "She's a monster!!" Screamed his mother so suddenly that he jumped. "This is all because of your wretched grandfather! Don't put false things into his head!" "Quiet, Eika! Our hatchlings don't need to hear that!!" "Hatchlings, Ilios? We have only one." His father growled, smoke floating up from his nostrils. His mother flinched, and became quiet. Kihga was terrified. He'd never seen his parents fight. Ilios turned to his shaking son. "Kihga, you'll be caring for your sister. Her name is Aqua. Goodnight, son." And he turned and flew out of the cave, leaving Kihga alone with his raging mother. The little dragonet looked confused, sitting on her back haunches with her head tipped. Kihga sighed, walking towards her. The little dragon flinched away from him, and he paused. He got onto his belly. "I won't hurt you, Aqua. We're siblings. I promise to protect you." He wasn't sure if she understood, but she seemed to receive it the right way. She yawned and came to lay against his side, pushing her tiny head against him, and then plopped back down, fast asleep. Kihga was still for a moment. He wasn't sure what to do. The little dragon shivered, so he put a wing around her, and warmed his body. Laying his head down next to hers and purring, he quickly fell asleep.

I adore this so far, Aqua!!! The writing style is so unique, and so very....what's the word? Snappy, quick to the point, but still including all the lovely details in a way that flows naturally. And don't worry, I forget stuff like that ALL the stinkin' time. My characters' eye colors, their markings, even their mates/friends sometimes. XD
