(Prize) The Kingdom Strider by Guppin

Prize for Tabycat64: The Kingdom Strider!
He is a member of a race known as the Kruron. These beasts consort with the stars on their slender legs, leaving all to watch in awe as ants below. They live in the valley of Piedor, coexisting in peace with its human inhabitants. The Kingdom Strider is the tallest of these stilt-walkers, dwarfing the mountains that enclose their home valley. He is named so, as it is said that with a single step, he could transverse entire domains. (cont)

I even wrote a little short story to go along with him. I can't type the whole thing here, so I'll just summarize it instead:

There once existed a kingdom in the valley between two mountains. The kingdom was named Piedor, and it was ruled by a compassionate king.

One day in the King's golden reign, a scorching drought consumed his dear valley. It evaporated lakes and rivers, burned forests and animals, and withered crops and people. The Kruron, intolerent to the heat and aridity, left the valley

Without water and their beloved Kruron, the citizens of Piedor's hearts faltered. The King, unable to sit idly by while his people suffered, asked his servant to fetch him three men who are capable of saving his kingdom from ruin. The servant returned with the Cleric, the Miner, and the Explorer. The King then asked the men how each of them plan to save Piedor.

The Cleric wished to send a prayer to the gods in order to bring the rains back. The Miner wished to use his digging machine to drill wells. Lastly, the Explorer wished to discover what kept the mountains that sheltered Piedor so green, dispite the extreme drought.

Pleased with the mens' plans he sent them on their way to prepare. In the neighboring room, the royal Weaver listened to every word. Curious, the Weaver left the room to confront the King.

The Weaver told the King that the plans of the other men would all end in failure, and that he had the one true plan that would deliver the kingdom from destruction. The Weaver then whispered into the ear of the King his said plan. The King is schocked by the plan of the Weaver, and he then shooes him away, believing that he has gone mad in his old age. The Weaver leaves.

The next day, the Cleric, Miner, and Explorer all excute their plans. However, just as the Weaver predicted, they all failed.

The prayer did not return the rains, the wells the Miner dug were dry, and the Explorer could not find the water source on the mountains. Dispearate, the King reluctantly decides to go with the Weavers plan. The Weaver is delighted, and prepares by braiding a rope of great width and length.
You see, all but one of Kruron had left the valley. And, the one that remained was none other then the Kingdom Strider. He passed over the kingdom every morning. The Weaver, knowing this, planned to trip him!

Five days later, the Weaver's rope is ready. The rope was taken to each peak of the mountains, forming a tripwire. To ensure the rope did not slip, the King split his citizens into two groups, and ordered each to hold one end of the rope. The
Kingdom Strider comes, and as planned, is tripped by the rope. He lands with a massive thud onto the earth, and hits his head on the side of one of the mountains. The impact of his head creates a crack on the mountain's slope.

And, from this crack, a spring emerges! The Explorer could not find what made the mountains glow viridian, because the water was located inside the slope. Dazed, the Kingdom Strider stands, and then continues on his way. But, the indent of where he fell begins to fill with water from the spring. A new river is born, with enough water for every living thing in the valley.

The citizens rejoice, and the Weaver is hailed as a hero. The new river is named the Kruronji River, after the beast who helped create it. The rains return soon after, and the Kingdom of Piedor is restored to its former glory. Thus, this tale concludes.
Wow, that took longer than I thought. If anyone read that, I thank you for enduring my story. I'm going to bed now. 'Night.

I saw this pic and read the comments and noticed that you were halfway through writing the story. So I decided to let you finish and not interrupt. It was a wonderful story by the way and thank you so much. I'll make sure to draw a pic of The Kingdom Strider. Okay, goodnight!
