So the only people that could pilot Eva's were the kids whose mom's were used to make Eva's, thats how they co.nnected w/ them. And since the 1st impact happened, twelve thirteen years earlier, thats how you get fourteen, fifteen year old pilots, Its a little different for Rei n' Kaworu tho, but you'll see why
