I love the colors used, and i dont think its bad considering no referance, the only way to get used to no ref is to draw with no ref. :) also the clouds are awesome!

Yeah, I feel you. I need references most times too. But it always looks better to the beholders, because we can't see the image you had in your mind, vs what we see here.

This looks friggen Fantastical to me! I dont even wanna see the ref image...forget that noise, this is the sheeeit!!!

Still, the time and patience you took to create this is masterful. And this version is even better then the evening one. The clouds look especially good!

Using reference is okay, but using your imagination is more challenging, just tag it with 'fantasy' if you're not too realistic person :D anyway good job

Man, I really struggle without a reference but this is so beautiful and authentic that I thought you did have a reference! You might think that it's not on par with your other work but it's really fantastic man. There's a different type of pride when you create an original and I'm sure you feel it with this one. Really great work man.
