Long hair is such a pain!! I prefer mine to be medium/longish (hate short hair)
I also hate that my hair is almost pure black

That's my reaction whenever someone at school jokes about cutting my hair.
My suggestion: If he cuts it, shave the top of his head in his sleep to make it look like a bald spot. You don't mess with the long hair.
