Some biological facts about the mermaids in my story....
Despite the fishy appearance, they are mammals.
I think of them as dolphin-centaurs, but they're tetrapods. The hip fins are the bones that most creatures have as legs.
Can usually hold their breath for about 7 minutes on average.
Simultaneous hermaphrodites. Can usually induce lactation pretty easily, both parents can feed babies.
Can go on land, but are clumsy and slow.
Skeletons are hard to draw

may i input some ideas and or facts, up the lung capasity to and leangth of submertion to ten minutes the averige human can hold there breath for 1 to 2 mins seven is good for a diver to up it to ten is brain damage normaly but not unheard of, perhaps tighter skin to allow for deeper dives.
