Regardless though, it's better to be who you really are. embrace who you are, become friends with the real you, and you could then make who you are, the same as who you want to be. This is me speaking from experience. I would never have become so open to others as I am now, if I hadn't accepted that I'm an introvert, but knew I could become greater.
