Scales are absolute agony to draw yes xnx I find it's easier to draw scales only in certain areas of a critter to give the impression of it being scaled, rather than meticulously drawing out every single one (if that even makes sense... xD)
I love this critter though, especially the spines over its shoulder and the light blue you used! <3
