nice work. I'm not great at giving advice but if you want to learn how to draw realistic faces you could watch the replays of some of the portrait paintings in the colors gallery.
When I draw faces I start with a very basic shape and very dark skin tones. I then add lighter skin tones gradually, and start to shape the face as I paint. I just keep making changes until I'm happy with it.
He really is :D. Anyway, I posted a reply to your comment but I read your profile now. If you know how to construct faces on paper, you could maybe start off with just doing them in grayscale, and wait with the coloring? It's easier to paint with a finger if you use large brushes. Ignore the layers, pick middle or dark gray, middle on both sliders, and have some fun :) go lower on the sliders to sharpen it up. I did do a painting thing that explains how I work with colors, but people have different techniques, so it may or may not work. The color samples there were blended with the "scatter"brush. Make some color blobs, blend them together, and pick up colors from them when you paint :) you're clearly very good at painting stuff, so keep up the great work!
