thx Gaz.. a lot of practice, of course, thinkning of constructions, comparisons and relationships of facial feaures, and then of course, colour and light. lots to observe :)
Thanks for the tips :) I do put a lot of practice in, I need to do more on facial features and proportions I think, I have done portraits in the past using soft pastels, but I always used a grid, this did give me good results but I'd like to reach a stage where I can just sit down and sketch a subject and achieve a good likeness as you do, I also realise i need to loosen up a lot more :) I ment to ask you a while ago if you do caricatures ?as some of your portraits seem to have a hint of it sometimes :)
Hey Gaz.. no, never worked in caricatures..my portratis can look like that because i work in the animation industry.. I guess it carries over into my personal work.. cheers!
