She was torchered because she was protecting a rare breed of hedgehogs called Shifters [or shapeshifters] and the shifter she was protecting was Nolan...
But Nolan didn't know that so when she went missing, he kinda freaked out[and called the police fifty times a day asking if they found her yet.]
When she escaped, she looked like this, she didn't remember who she was...or who Nolan was...
