I thought you were a dude not a dudette. Go figure. lol. ...and a darn good lookin' dudette, too. :) In all seriousness, this is a great painting. I'm still working on mine. I'm trying to emulate an Italian artist whom I greatly admire for his draftsmanship. Although, I'm not very interested in the stories of the character I'm basing my self portrait on.
Wow, thanks everyone for your nice comments! :) . . . . in forums people often think, I'm a guy. Although I think, my drawings are not very manly - and if somebody looked onto my website, which redirects to my gallery and blog, they would quickly find out, I'm a woman :) - and I LOVE my DS and my COLORS! :) . . .. . . I don't think that I'm pretty ^^; - I think every girl can look good when drawn in Mucha style. But thank you for saying so!! . .. . . @Inque: your last sentence kept my cranium busy for some moments...
Hey!!! are those your macro photography jobs, in the deviantART page??? i love to do macro photo!!!you are an amazing photographer, too!!! one day i will pick one of your amazing photos and draw it in colors! if you dont have a problem with it... ---congratulations!!!
@ Zeitwolf: Congratulations on winning! You deserve it. This painting is superb. :D Okay. A dude is a guy. A dudette (a word I made up) is a girl. I'm a fan of Tanino Liberatore. I don't have any of his books but, I do like his art. My self portrait doesn't do me any justice at all and I don't think I fully emulated Tanino's style.
wow i didn't realise you were a girl either! this is a great portrait and you look lovely! @ men ;) : theres actually quite alot of us ladies who play DS! lol. i don't know much Mucha, but now, googling it, the drawings look very beautiful. you've done a great job in creating this style!
Mucha is a personal favourite and you've done a great job here. If you've captured your real self in any way, shape or form, you're a real beauty with those wilting eyes and stearn (plus a little introspective) stance. Nive one!
@alan pina: Thank you for the nice words on my photography - I do not generally object to you using my photographs as reference, but under the condition, that you mention it in your image description, whenever you load it up.
And now back to English :)
I really like your paintings. As a matter of fact, I've starred most of them already. But there's just something about this particular one. Whenever I see one of your paintings in the random gallery, I always stop by to take another look at it. It's one of my all time Colors! favorites.

The comic style and the soft shading style for the skin tones is great! I like the contrast of it.
