quick fact. the pika are from the order of legomorphs, which also includes the leporidae, which are rabbits. so they are more closely related to rabbits than hamsters. woo for google.

No pikacu is a eletric-mouse pokemon: well at least its a mouse here in Japan but Im not sure what he is in amarica. But pikichu is defiantlly a mouse. Its also stated on every pikichu pokemon card.

Yay i learned facts :D but if you think about it and compare a real life pika to pikachu, pikachu looks kind of like a rabbit/hamster... but that might only be me .----.

No-its not just you: alot of peeps think like you! but Game-Freaks really did base Pikachu after one of the staff member's pet mouse he named Pika!
