Hmm...
Good start! If you're going for a realistic shading, go for more contrast: darker darks, lightler lights. Also use the middle brush and spam the Eyedrop tool to get a smoother gradience. If you want cartoony, just make your lines smoother (and maybe a little darker). As a next step, try to practice on more complicated shapes/characters! "Shay"ded Shayleaf? ;3
