The two siblings lived in poverty leading to Annalise having about three jobs just to keep her and her brother alive. Though Annalise worked hard her younger brother felt that he shouldn't work for things if it was easier just to take them, he turned to stealing which upset Annalise immensly. One day Micheal came to Annalise frightend and distraught. cont. in comments

He explained to her that he was attempting to steal something that would get them out of poverty forever, but while he was stealing it the owner of the item found him. Out of fright and adrenaline Micheal stabbed the owner. Annalise calmed her brother and told him she would fix everything. A couple days later the authorities suspected that Micheal had mur.dered the owner and were going to execute him. Out of pure love for her brother Annalise took the blame and was executed by the guilotine. (Thats whats in her neck) She is now a physical ghost and never regrets the choice she made.
