Silent Sanctuary by Flame24
Inspired by the location of my first painting, "White Lake." However, unlike "White Lake," this painting is meant to be fictuous, and is loosely based on the landscape.
I attempted to use a reference for color, as it was a beautiful day with beautiful colors, but quickly deleted it as the photograph was dull.

The seemingly dead tree lies at the heart of the forest as a protector deity to the trees. It appears dead as it donates its endless life to all within its forest. The tree is protected by a very deep lake that is not water. This substance has a very low density, and anything that attempts to swim in it will sink...
