Splash by uilleanngirl

My attempt at a water drop in keeping with the trend. Gah! This is as good as it's gonna get. Used a photo ref... the colors here are probably a bit brighter than they appeared when painting it... Ah well.

Sorta. I feel like I should have chosen a drop with a simpler color scheme, to make it more recognizable. This is almost too colorful, don't you think?

maybe. i think the drop part looks like what it should look like--but the background doesn't look like water. it's good either way. if you ever want to try this concept again, perhaps one with a simpler color scheme is the way to go.

Sweet, so the drop contest continues.
This one makes me think of the T1000 for some reason...

looking back at this, it looks slightly metallic/waxy. but in a good way.

@ test3: I wasn't gonna say anything but, I thought I was the only one sees it that way. lol. @ lilleanngirl: You did a darn good job on this. :) Viewing both the painting and reference back to back I see how well you represent this image with Colors DS and developed your art is.

@ Inque: Thanks (not Colors DS, by the way... iPod version). The Pogo stylus helps a good bit, makes it easier than before.

You people using Pogo stylus should take part in that Pogo stylus contest, there are only 2 pictures from Colors! there, and quite a lot from brushes.

@ uilleanngirl: When I posted my previous comment it was very late in my part of the world. My attention span wasn't as sharp as it is during the daylight hours otherwise I would have caught my mistake. This painting is very inspiring. I think I'll paint a similar one too. :)

@ jetboy: well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to submit a couple of these things I've already done... no way I'll win of course, but maybe it can promote Colors! a bit at least!
