This is a discussion on "The Wilderness Paradox", in which I overveiw why it is that those whom abuse nature always seem to live closest to it. NOTICE, I mean no offense to anyone here, I just really am strongly against hunting. I have strong feelings against the immature "David Crocket fantasy" that so many people buy into as the run into the woods slaying anything that moves for "sport".

Very interesting topic you covered here. Hunting is a very sad thing. It's scary people think it's a-okay to go out and shoot animals. I know in Engl.and there are people who shoot SONG BIRDS. What are you gonna do with a dead SONGBIRD?
I understand (but in no way defend) hunting overly populated animals (like I think deer were at some point) but hunting animals who's populations are fine, and just minding their business in nature...I wish only the worst for those people.

I 100 percent agree with this rant! I dont care about deer but wolves, tiger, lion, bears, they should NOT be slaughter them. There are less than 3 percent of tigers in the entire world. Is that bad? yes.Cougars too. They are skinned and their heads get cut off.Bears, they get mad so many hunters get injured hunting bears. So yeah i agree we stop threatening wildcats and wilddogs also alot more so yeah end of mai story.

This is really interesting! I do agree with most of this. This might be why I was mildly surprised when I read somewhere that John James Audubon had been a duck hunter, but I have no clue whether he had a 'slay anything that moves' philosophy. I don't recall if you knew about my art that far back, but I had some serious beef against the government of my homestate (Michigan) for listing the Grey Wolf as a 'game species' almost as soon as they got off the protected species list, and soon a bill for a hunting season went through...what's more, thanks to some weird politics, they could thumb their nose at a petition to keep the wolves protected that got over a quarter-million signatures. They would justify by saying they were 'controlling the population' so that livestock wouldn't get eaten or whatnot, but that wouldn't lessen my outrage.

I will also mention that I secretly have a character that's a somewhat stereotypical trigger-happy, tough-guy hunter living out in the woods with his dog that the animal gang like to mess with and team up against...
Maybe this will spur me to design and draw them sometime, just out of mockery.
